Years ago, my mom and I began painting pottery together during my recovery from knee surgery. What started as a relaxing and fun activity soon became "our thing," a special way for us to bond and share time.
 
The name "Lily Pad" is a key piece of one my favorite family stories. On my mom and dad’s first date, he took her fishing. When she asked about the lily pads floating in the water, he jokingly told her they were homes for bats, who would emerge at night from the lily pads. A decade later, he overheard her talking at a party and explaining how bats live in lily pads. He told my poor mom the truth but that little inside joke has brought laughter to our family ever since, and it perfectly represents the heart and humor behind our studio.
 
At Lily Pad Pottery, we want every customer to feel that same sense of connection and joy that my mom and I experienced - and maybe a giggle every time you think of a lily pad from now on.
